i don't disagree that it _sounds faster_ (it does so to me, too) - but it isn't once you actually try it out. That would make that change a blind...

The cancellation would for sure not be a problem. it'd act similar to a IOC order - which will be visible as canceled via the api - which freqtrade supports...
