What is the trigger when collecting data from epoc+

Can you please tell me, when you are using emotive epoc+ what is the trigger you are using for each task. Are you thinking of UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and closing eye. If that is the case are you just thinking of "UP" or you have to visually focus on the Upper box?
