External downloader script
Noting this here just to track thoughts if anyone has any before I go off and implement things...
It would be nice if the installation included a non-interactive downloader that could be called from cron to handle periodic downloading of new episodes outside of when you were running the UI.
This would be really cool. Also it would probably solve an issue where castero hangs if quit while still downloading feeds/files.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I like to sync things for offline use and a headless mode would be extremely useful. Then it could be run in a script to collect the new episodes. Having them already downloaded and then being able to just launch castero and start listening would be really nice when you don't have a network connection.
I know you said you didn't want to implement a headless downloading functionality but I have a maybe less "feature-creepy" idea that I'd like to request.
Is there a way to get castero to recognize and play podcasts that were downloaded with another tool? What I'm trying to do is have podget download the podcasts into the same directory as the one I have configured as the download dir in my castero.conf. That way I could have podget do the headless downloading in a script or cron but use castero to play them.
I have tried this but castero doesn't seem to be aware of the files downloaded outside of castero. This would be a good solution for me as I do really like the castero interface for listening but I want to be able to script the downloading part rather than having to manually go through the TUI to download everything each time.
