HDMI hotkey dissapear
I have my speakers hotkey F7 and my HDMI TV to F8, and that never changes. But once every couple reboots of my Win10 PC the F8 hotkey dissapears. When I go to add it again it says there is already a hotkey for F8. The only way to fix this is to clear all hotkeys and start from step one. PS I'm the guy from twitter,.
Thanks for creating this.
Ok so a few questions to get us started:
- What version are you using? 1.6.6.85?
- Does the hotkey work before clearing it, or does it just not function at all?
- Does the F8 hotkey show in the hotkey table before clearing them?
Yes, 1.6.6.:5
It doesn't work, and it doesn't show up in my hotkey tab, but when I try to reset it as F8 ut says it's taken.
No, only the F7-Speaker hotkey is visible.

After looking over the code, there's definitely the possibility that they can get into a weird state.
I'll review it, and make some changes. Will update this issue with the intended fix version.
In the meantime you'll have to continue using the workaround with 'Clear All Hotkeys'
Thanks. Get back to me when it's updated

I have the same issue reported here. I have my TV connected via HDMI and a hot key assigned for it. The hotkey disappears, usually after rebooting, and I have to do the same process of clearing all hotkeys and adding them all back.
One additional note - my TV is not always on as the second monitor - I only toggle it on (extend displays) when I watch movies, etc.
My husband has the same issue on his computer, but he's only using USB speakers and Windows 10, no external TV.
Exact same thing happens to him. Do you need more specs?
1.7.0.117 windows 10 The Shortcut key associated with device did not remove correctly as the remove of device.
When plug out a device and plugin, that would be a problem.
The program not only did not remember the shortcut key for the device, but also prevent to set up the same shortcut key for the device.
I have the same version as hawktang: 1.7.0.117 Windows 10 Pro.
Sometimes (maybe after reboots?) I get this. I hotkey 3 output and 2 recording devices, but they disappear from the app. I can't put them back in because it says those keys are already assigned. I have to clear and reconfigure them.
Suggestions- an option to save the key profile and reload it would save us a lot of time reconfiguring the keys. If that was implemented, it might be only a short step to have a button that clears the keys and reloads a saved config file in one click. If this issue happens, users just need to click a button.
Or - if it detects the hotkey list is cleared, it automatically reloads the saved config file (if present). Clearing keys would have to delete that file I guess, or it would just reload the file each time. But users could move the file if they didn't want to lose the settings permanently.
Next time I experience the issue, I'll get screenshots etc and paste whatever data I can find.
Same in here This is weird :S

This is not an issue about setting more than one device as default from a hotkey, quick switch or other relating switching activity.
@WhiteKing21 do you have the setting "Show Unknown Devices" turned on?
If not, can you turn that on, and then take a look at the hotkey tab again?
I think there might be a disconnected device registered with a hotkey.
@xenolightning I wanted to chime in and say I have been getting this error as well, always on restart and generally always with my USB headset. I toggled "Show Unknown Devices" and sure enough it's showing up as "Unknown Device" on the switcher.
Just for fun, I unplugged and re-plugged the headset in, but it didn't update on the list. Hoping this helps! (Headset is a steelseries)
EDIT: At the very least, this option makes it easier to re-set, before I had to clear the whole list and then re-add everything, so it's saving me some time.
As soon as the device was disconnected once it will not show up on the hotkey list but still stays in the hotkey list. I need to clear the whole hotkey list instead of the code revalidates the hotkey list with the connected devices.
Although i really like this Programm. If you can show me where these lines are located in this project i maybe can make pullrequest

You can enable the "Show Unknown Devices" - which will show hotkeys for devices that aren't known about in the system.
As far as the lines of code - it's in hotkey manager somewhere - but there could be flow on effects that are unforeseen if we don't bind the hotkey - and it might cause issues if you re-bind it.
I have same problem and it's the reason i'm uninstalling... Everytime there's a new NVIDIA update it removes the hotkeys. I have to delete them and redo them. Since it's every month or so it's annoying to do for the past few years. I'm done. When there will be a fix i'll reinstall but this is so annoying...
