Safari on iOS: Disabled date not working

I disable dates and it works properly on IE, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, but not with Safari on iOS.

Is this a known bug or is it possible that I'm not doing something correctly, i.e. an eventing issue where things aren't occurring in the proper order for Safari?
