Cannot load kernel in rEFInd boot manager after update to 5.13.6-xanmod1-cacule and later
I'm not sure whether this is a xanmod problem or a rEFInd problem, but I just wanted some help sussing out what exactly is going on here.
I've kept my kernel up to date with the latest xanmod Cacule release for months now. Using rEFInd as a boot loader. Suddenly from 5.13.6-xanmod1-cacule to 5.13.6-xanmod1-cacule, rEFInd is no longer able to start and gets stuck on the "EFI Stub: Loaded initrd from command line option" and goes no further. Normally this message loads, and then it goes on to loading the LUKS password prompt, systemd, etc. For each kernel I'm using the same .configs (plus the defaults of new config options), same kernel options, everything is the same.
Unfortunately rEFInd doesn't seem to have logs or any kind of verbose mode so I'm not sure what's happening other than "it's freezing here", and I'm completely lost as to why it stopped working on these specific latest kernels.
I'm not aware what actually happened, probably some kernel abi change that conflicted with rEFInd. Does this problem still persist?
