Beta version defaults to using Stable update channel

After installing the 16.0 Beta 6, it seems to default to using the Stable Update channel, and therefore shows a notification about a "newer" update being available that is actually older (1.5.4).

This can be easily fixed by changing to the Beta update channel but I think if you're installing the Beta version it should just default to being in that update channel.

Thanks for the suggestion! As of v1.16.0-beta7, a clean install of a beta build will default you to the beta branch. I may update the logic again to match your exact suggestion, but I want to be sure there aren't edge cases where people get stuck in beta builds or end up in the beta channel unexpectedly.
