Feature Request: Simulate DDC/CI features for non-DDC/CI screens

Hello!

I have a Samsung Odyssey Neo G8, which, in Samsung's wisdom, doesn't have DDC/CI over the DisplayPort connection.
I have two other Dell monitors that have DDC/CI that function perfectly with Twinkle Tray.

My feature request is: For screens that do not support DDC/CI, can there other methods to dim the screen?

For example:

• Can a greyscale overlay be rendered on the screen? F.lux does something similar to this, I think
• Nvidia control panel exposes brightness adjustments, could this be used by Twinkle Tray (I'm sure AMD have something similar in their graphics software)
• Could a 100% black frame be rendered every % of the time (PWM brightness, not my preferred solution (possible eye strain, these frames would have to be synchronised with the display))
