can we use `Microchip/Include/generictypedef.h` when working with the old `plib.h` on PIC32MX5xx?

I was trying to use the legacy plib.h to interface with an LCD(JHD204A) using PMP, it was not building! Screenshot from 2024-06-15 13-36-14
