new Thread()不会启动一个新线程,而是调用init的这个方法设置一些东西,比如设置线程组,栈大小,拿到线程名,tid。创建一个ThreadLocalMap。 而start方法才会启动一个线程。

其实start方法的核心就是调用了

可以注意到有native_thread->osthread() == NULL 这个判断,如果osthread为空了会抛出OutOfMemoryError 核心点在于native_thread = new JavaThread(&thread_entry, sz); 创建了一个新的线程

initialize()初始化了一堆字段,重点还是os::create_thread(this, thr_type, stack_sz);

如果new OSThread(NULL, NULL);失败了会一直返回到最上面的函数并抛出oom(如内存不够等条件)

可以看到使用glibc的int ret = pthread_create(&tid, &attr, (void* ()(void)) java_start, thread);来创建线程。如果创建失败也会thread->set_osthread(NULL); (如ZOMBIE状态-达到线程上限)最后抛出oom
