Subs with only one host are prone to outages and going dormant if that host goes offline. Multihosted subs would allow more than one board to the host and add resiliency to the net.

how would the message packet from subscriber nodes flow if multi-hosted?

with single host, it's clear: network post at node -> sub host -> sub subscribers

with dual or multi-host, where is the network post sent? how to handle dupes?
