  1. sudo is not configured by default in Fedora.
  2. I was not able to get anything working with Ruby 1.8.6. Did you actually try this?

I tried on a 32-bit Fedora 13. I had to compile MobgoDB (did this previously, since the 10gen repo does not provide a 32-bit package yet for server) from source and it won't start with Ruby 1.8.6. Unfortunately the ruby-lang.org server seems down and I can't fetch the 1.8.7 sources.

  2. Yup ... but it did fail sadly due to AS3 requirement as it only installs on 1.8.7. Looks like we can work around it with rvm ....

@zwgraham Yeah, Reality has come up with a bootstrap method which I'm testing right now using rvm to install 1.8.7 in a local environment. I'll resubmit the doc after I verify it all works (https://identi.ca/notice/50711651)

It might be a good idea to move the install instructions for various OSes to Github wiki pages
