Modem in bridged mode, unable to access anything on it

Open samip5 opened this issue 5 years ago • 8 comments

Describe the bug There's no way to access the Web GUI as I don't know the IP address for it. Tried the one's that were suggested, but nope. It's completely in bridge mode so I don't know how I can access it.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Order an ADSL connection from Telia Finland oriented towards business users
  2. After installation, try to access web gui.
  3. See error.

Expected behavior Going to the address and able to access the Web GUI.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Browser Brave
  • Version 0.66.99 Chromium: 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: [e.g. iPhone6]
  • OS: [e.g. iOS8.1]
  • Browser [e.g. stock browser, safari]
  • Version [e.g. 22]

Additional context Add any other context about the problem here.

You won’t be able to access it in bridged mode if you do not set up the required static routes so your router knows where it is

What static routes are you talking about? It was installed AND configured by ISP, so I don't really know what it's configuration is like.

ISP is Telia Finland Oyj.

I am assuming that your network looks like this:

DSL/Internet —— Modem (bridge) —— Router

You should take it out of bridge mode, reroot and try this https://hack-technicolor.readthedocs.io/en/stable/Unlock%20Functionality/#speeding-up-vdsl-sync-times

How could I do that when even the reset button does not do anything? It's not rooted, nor have I configured it myself. I don't know what firmware it's running or what type of firmware it would accept. ISP has configured it and installed it, it's owned by ISP.

Why are you asking for help here then? This how to hack the modem, not to set it up.

Please ask telia support, not us.

I'm asking here as I want to be able to get root on it but if I don't even know what address the modem is listening on for, that would be hard to do? I did not see anything about Telia on the hacking sites, do you know why?

P.S Telia's support is not really wanting to help as all of the actions they do, cost money.
