Immediately start fullscreen recording with shortcut

I'm trying to use kap to replace the cmd shift 5 default functionality. is it possible to set up kap so it will automatically start/stop recording full screen when that shortcut is pressed and upload to dropbox automatically (possibly by writing a plugin)?

i like that kap lets me do a lower framerate and smaller file size with mp4 x264, but i would also like to make the ui more minimal for my use case.

This is something we've discussed adding a setting for, very interesting to chain it with a Plugin like you suggested.

Are there even any shortcuts currently that can start/stop a recording? The only shortcut I found is to trigger Kap
