Unable to stop recording

I started recording my screen and then there was no way to stop besides quitting the app, which ruined the video. Apple M1.

There's a stop recording button in the activity bar. You can click to stop recording.

@suenyiyang the stop button appears for some seconds and then disappears. Device: 14" MBP M4

I was recording the browser specifically, therefore the dotted border around the browser.

Upgrading to the latest version of macOS fixed this issue for me: Sequoia 15.6.1 on macOS m1

The issue is with the menu bar, the icon get hide if we have to many apps open

Another workaround: Cmd + click + hold the O icon and drag it to the right, it will also stay there after restarting the app.
