240Hz

Hey, great work building this repo! I'm wondering how you managed to achieve 240Hz - I tried copying your iGPU DeviceProperty but mine still seems to be on 60Hz. It also doesn't give me the option to change my refresh rate, unlike in your screenshot. Thanks!

You should patch your iGPU using patches generated by hackintools then it will work, at least in my case.

@Errrneist Hmm... I played around with Hackintool and while the patches it generated are largely the same as your in DeviceProperties, I still couldn't get it to work. I followed this guide, more or less: https://www.olarila.com/topic/5970-guide-hackintool-video-patch-fast-and-easy-solution/

Do you mind elaborating on the patching details? Thanks!

Honestly, I have no idea.

I just patched it and it just worked...unfortunately I do not have much patching details because to me it seemed like a miracle too.

Hackintoshing is like...try everything and somehow something works although you don't know why it work but it works lol

I lost my hackintosh partition due to a recent corruption of my windows system (We only have one drive bay so it broke both macOS and Windows) and I have no plan to re-install it so I am sorry I can't give you more help right now. What I have in the writeup is all I know.

Good luck with GRE!

Overriding EDID made the refresh rate option show up although it's greyed out at 60Hz. I inspected the EDID hex and it indeed includes two operation modes, 1080p @ 240Hz and 60Hz. Tried forcing 240Hz by removing the 60Hz entry but got a black screen on boot haha. Will keep investigating.

I should also note that that screenshot was taken in Catalina, not Big Sur. I don't remember if it worked on Big Sur or not, since shortly after I upgraded to Big Sur I broke my SSD... So I am not sure if it will work on Big Sur or not.
