Italic font seems not use italic variant font file

I modified "main_font_list" to add "JetBrains Mono" font installed on my machine. This is the same font I use in Microsoft Visual Studio Code.

The problem with all fonts, not only this one, is that italic text is very rough, like when I slant the font instead of using the installed italic variant. If I zoom a lot the result is better. The same font in VS Code appears smooth as it should.

I tried to attach a screenshot of a WM text in italic, but in the resulting image is smooth.

I'm using WM 3.2.0 on Windows 10 64bits.

I tested JetBrains font and it renders fine on my end. Italic is as it should be. Also on (WM 3.2.0 on Windows 10 64bits.).

Does italic really shows as slanted regular font? Or is it using real italic variant but rendering is jagged?

Rendering is jagged. I mentioned slanted because the problem happens if you take a regular font and skew it. Also the effect is much less visible in titles (bigger font + bold). Attached a photo of the screen showing the effect (as I said, a normal screenshot smoothed the font and nothing is visible).
