Going to Zurich MW Hackathon 2014
@wrought @Daniel-Mietchen I just noticed this is announced http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Z%C3%BCrich_Hackathon_2014 . So we can also go to that instead of, or in addition to, OKFest .
Yes. Would be good timing too. I'll be there.
Hey Daniel, it's looking like Max and I are less inclined to make it to Zurich in early may, but you being there is great and we can participate remotely. I've added this issue to the Event Session Proposal milestone, are there any presentation or participation applications that need to be submitted for this?
I've assigned you as you'll be present, but the three of us will get notifications on this issue.
There will be lightning talks at the beginning, and I'll surely give one. This works best if accompanied with a succinct project description and pointers on how to get involved, available at least a few days in advance. People have already started signing up for individual projects: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Z%C3%BCrich_Hackathon_2014#Topics .
Update: @notconfusing is planning to attend. Want to use this thread to coordinate presentation in Zurich?
I am going to the Zurich Hackathon to:
- get more data about improving our Wikidata integration
- learning how to use the Wikidata Toolkit.
- receive help on setting up Wikimedia Labs instances
OK, @notconfusing - what costs do you anticipate?
Anticipating costs of:
- 4 nights of accommodation at 55EUR per day = 220EUR
- Rail/Air Ticket Zurich->London ~100EUR Total 320EUR
My anticipated costs:
- 4 nights of accommodation at around 60EUR per day = 240EUR
- Train ticket Berlin-Zurich-Berlin ca. 150 EUR; Total 390EUR
My train ticket is 237 EUR, accommodation 3x 60 EUR=180EUR, hence 417EUR in total.
Any update on the reimbursement for this, or can we close?
