password-protected "Incorrect Password" displayed when correct password entered

When the correct password is entered "Incorrect Password" now displays, the users is then able to refresh the window and access the homepage but once they try to navigate to another page they are prompted to input the password again and then the process begins again.

Did you ever figure this problem out? I'm having issues with my users' passwords not working at all. Any suggestions?

Are you still getting this error, I'm unable to reproduce. If feels like some sort of caching issue.

Do you have any caching plugins active or are you running on hosting that has caching active?

@FoxxieandGigi2015 I think the issue you posted here is not related to the Password Protect plugin which protects your whole site with a single password.

Your query seems like a more generic issue with WordPress and user's passwords not working.
