Password Protect redirects my pages to the homepage

Hi there. I have just created a WP site and have used the wonderful plugin password-protect. All going well except when logged in and click on one of my pages, there is a redirect on it that takes it to the homepage. Even the URL states that this is a redirect:

https://xxxxxxxx.co.uk/?password-protected=login&redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.xxxxxxxxx.co.uk%2Fportfolio

(xxxxxxxx in place of actual URL)

I have quite limited experience and wondered if there was something that could help resolve this? Thank you so much in advance! :-)
