Update Plugin and getting syntax error

Open mdantoni opened this issue 6 years ago • 1 comments

I just updated the plugin and now the site is getting this syntax error. How do I fix the error OR uninstall the plugin from my site?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/12/7620212/html/wp-content/plugins/password-protected/admin/admin-bar.php on line 10

Thanks for your help.

Your hosting may not support a recent supported version of PHP required for more recent updates to the plugin. The plugin requires at least PHP 5.3.

The latest versions of WordPress now require PHP 5.6+ but PHP 7+ is recommended.

I will not be making the plugin backward compatible so if you cannot upgrade to a more recent version of PHP just yet for some reason, please install an older version of the plugin in the meantime.

For security I would recommend that you should get PHP upgraded though... ;)
