HTML symbols in password

HTML special symbols can't be used in password.

Do you mean chars like @#$%

I did try a password with the hashtag (#) and it worked.

i will recheck, it was a week ago and i forgot already deleted plugin and using system's sendmail in diag log , base64 of login/pass did not contain %, after decoding

I can confirm that the percentage symbol (%) is stripped from the password field, resulting in an authentication error. PostSMTP is used as mailer type.
