imagify-plugin Original image stays on server after resizing

We have multiple users asking about possibility to delete the original size image after it is resized by WP (v5.3+).

After the process is completed, WP delivers image-scaled.jpg and the original stays on the server which can take a lot of the server space.

It might be interesting to consider the option to delete these originals. An example ticket can be found here.

To confirm this is with the 'Backup original images' option unchecked.

Up this one, have the same issue. Is there any workaround for this, that will remove the original image?

When Imagify plugin is active, it overrides the filters related to big_image_size_threshold even if 'resize' is turned off.
