Add To Cart Notifications for 2.0 Theme Engine
A new requirement for 4.0
The above PR just moves all Fancy Notification functionality into a module so that it will be easier to integrate with 2.0 Theme Engine.
The PR is rebased for 3.11.0
Awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing this in action and having a play :)
Standalone components sound like a good idea. I'm personally down with whatever is a good experience for our users.

and
Some things I'd love to see in future iterations:
- Animated checkmark when opening the modal (like http://codepen.io/elevaunt/pen/JYRBzJ)
- Some sort of live, sticky, persistent cart indicator (like shopify's buy button: http://b.ustin.co/10uXz)
- Way to preview view other items in cart from modal (crate/barrel does not list other items)
- Way to modify quantity from modal
One thing to consider regarding estimated shipping: this is pretty straight-forward when shops use flat rate shipping.
When they use external calculators like USPS/UPS - we generally don't have a good way to get rates for them without a full address. That said, it would be semi-trivial to update the shipping methods to only require a ZIP code. If we did that, we could have a link that might say "Calculate Estimated Shipping" or something and just click, reveal ZIP field, and use that.
Alternatively - we could use the user's ZIP code from a previous purchase if they were logged in and had a previous address in their profile.
Making pretty good progress: http://b.ustin.co/VTAo (Still have to hook up the DB synchronizing part, as it doesn't actually add the items to the cart, yet)
Beautiful!
I can't wait to have a play :)
Is this to replace Ye old fancy notifications?

Yep!
@jtsternberg has this pretty well completed in #2295. We're going to go ahead and merge into 4.0.0 and take care of the last bit - making it responsive.
@lizkaraffa should be taking care of that this week or next.
@jtsternberg I've been working on styling it responsively, but I've noticed it's pulling in the entire cart instead of just the item we're adding. Would you be able to change it so it just pulls in the one item instead?
I noticed you mentioned above showing more items than just one, but that causes some awkward visiblity when the cart gets full. https://cloudup.com/c7sx52RTKEn (i.e. only seeing 2 items when there are 6)
@jtsternberg another thing I noticed is that the little sticky cart button displays on some pages that it shouldn't, Like the home page or blog page. The little cart icon goes away on those pages, but the button stays.
@jtsternberg I'm getting different subtotals in the fancy notification than what checkout gives. Fancy notification provides a more expensive subtotal. Originally I thought it was factoring in shipping and/or taxes that weren't showing up in the cart yet, but upon completing the order the modal subtotal is still greater than the cart/checkout. UPDATE: Upon further reflection. If you already have a product A in your cart. You do more shopping. Return to Product A page and click to add the product to your cart again. The modal will update the quantity. However, when you go to the cart, it will not pass forward that updated quantity and will use whatever the last quantity was when the cart page was viewed.
