Missing spaces between 'label' and 'English' (and similar ODK label column names) as shown in attached screenshot image

Thanks! The column in ODK is label:English and since Stata does not allow colons in variable names it is removed when the sheet is imported to Stata.

But you are right adding that colon back in the error message would make it clearer for the user to read. I will think of a good way to include that, but it will unfortunately not make the first release.
