Extra syllable count with "er"
Upon further inspection,
- Minimum 3 characters
- "er" must come after a vowel
- "er" must be at the end of the word
- Adding an "s" to make it plural maintains the extra syllable count
- Without the "r" following "e", the syllable count is fine.
Essentially, having "er" triggers an additional syllable count, regardless of whether it is plural or not.

Both "tier" and "eer" should be 1 syllable each. I initially wanted to make an issue for "volunteer" since it was being counted as 4 syllables rather than 3 but then I discovered this instead.
tier and eer are not english words, they are hypotheticals?
I am afraid I dont understand what you mean by "hypotheticals".
Tier is an english word according to Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, and Collins.
But yes, I agree that eer is not an english word. I was using it similar to how mmmm was used in line 34 of test/index.js 😅.
However:
- Volunteer (Merriem-Webster, Cambridge, Collins) should be 3, not 4. This seems to be the case with most things ending in
eer. - Chocolatier (Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, Collins) should be 4, not 5. This seems to be the case with most things ending in
ier.
