Keyboard disappears and reappears sporadically while typing

User app reviews include a handful of reports about the keyboard disappearing and reappearing sporadically while typing. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue (which may be iPad-specific) but I want to track the reports:

User with iPad Pro, reported for stable 5.8 release:

I love Wordpress and have blogged with them for a while now. However I've just updated to an iPad Pro, and I have found that the app is very frustrating to use with the Pro. When typing, the keyboard goes away after not typing for a few seconds, sometimes reappearing and then disappearing again for no reason.

User with iPad Air 2, reported for stable 5.8 release:

I love Wordpress on my desktop, such an amazing blog site. But the app on iPad Air 2 just isn't great at all. The automatic save disrupts the typing every couple of seconds by making the keyboard disappear, reappear and just not work at all. Would not recommend for writing long posts.

User with unspecified device, reported for stable 6.0 release:

... it collapses when i try to edit something. I have to write first in notes and then just paste it. Does not seem convenient at all.

User with iPad, reported for stable 6.0 release:

The most frustrating bug is the iPad keyboard is not reliable. In the middle of typing text, it will close. When you re-open the keyboard it will close again. When you try to use it with a Bluetooth keyboard, the same thing happens. It will close, freeze or be unresponsive. It's very frustrating and makes the app unusable.

Another user reported this for iPad, stable 6.1 release:

The keyboard of the iPad keeps hiding every few secs. I can't finish a single sentence. Really annoying.

One theory, based on a recent support issue and the mention of autosave above: These users may all be using the Calypso editor in the in-app browser, and running into keyboard issues due to autosave there. When I test this on my iPhone, I run into glitchy behavior with the cursor and typing while using the Calypso editor from within the app.

If this theory is correct, preventing this behavior (e.g. with #5475) could resolve this issue.
