Images are broken in editor on private sites

Open rachelmcr opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

If a site is private, images added in the editor (either uploaded from the device or added from the media library) are broken. The media is uploaded, and the HTML view shows the correct image URL, but the image isn't visible in the editor.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Select a WordPress.com site in the app
  2. If the site isn't already private, go to Settings > Privacy and select Private
  3. Start a new post
  4. Tap the media icon to add an image to the post
  5. Select an image from the device's Camera Roll or from the site's Media Library and select Done

Result: Once the image is added (after the upload finishes) the image appears as a blank square in the editor. Switching to HTML view shows a working URL for the image on the site; it just doesn't appear in the app's editor.

  1. Exit the editor (save the draft) and go to the site's Settings > Privacy and select Hidden or Public
  2. Open the draft again, and the image now appears in the editor

I checked this in the new beta v. 6.1.0.20160406 and this isn't an issue there. Closing as resolved.

This is an issue again, as seen on iPhone 6, iOS 10.1.1, WPiOS 6.8.0.20161129.

I've tested this issue on iPad Air 2, iOS 10.3.2, WPiOS 7.7 and cannot reproduce.
