Odd behavior with Korean keyboard
As reported by a user:
A line break is automatically inserted after the first letter in the first line of the post content editor. What is stranger is the first letter is repeated in the next line and it becomes impossible to backspace back to the first line. To repro:
- install Korean keyboard
- type ㅇ, ㅗ, ㄴ, ㅡ, and ㄹ. This is how to enter 오늘, meaning Today in Korean. Five letters for two syllables.
Here's what it looks like on my iOS device:
![]()
Here is what it's supposed to look like, when I tested on my Android device:
![]()
Verified on iOS 8.4.1
This behavior was also reported in #808 for Vietnamese keyboards:
Step to reproduce:
- Go to iPhone keyboard setting, add language Vietnamese.
- On WPE, switch to edit mode.
- Switch keyboard to Vietnamese.
- Press on A and A one more time you will get  character.
- Press another character such as A. Result: WP auto break the line like: ------------------Starting of Editor --------------------- Â a |<-- caret position
Same bug with another character like E and E -> Ê , D and D -> Đ, U and W -> Ư, O and W -> Ơ , U and J -> Ụ , O and J -> Ọ...
I reproduced the issue on my iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1, WPiOS 6.2.0.20160429.
A user reported this issue again (for Korean) in an iOS 6.2 app review (2 stars). Just noting it here to keep track of user reports.
