Extension view is not able to works on the button click that try to open the new tab

When using the extension in popup view, clicking on links that should open in a new tab prevents proper navigation and functionality.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the extension by clicking the extension icon in the Appmenu and then open any of the extension from tap.eclipse.xyz or Artifact Extension
2. Click on any link that should open in a new tab like connect discord or terms of eclipse
3. Observe that it does not do anything when i click on those links.

Expected Behavior

Clicks should work as expected when i click on options that are going to open new tabs.

Actual Behavior

Links are attempting to open the new tab which is restricted in extension view.
