More control over product images

User story

As a merchant, I want to have complete control over how my products are presented. For the product listings in WooCommerce, I may want to use colour swatches as the primary variation image but for the listings on Google I would want the primary product image to be used and not the variation image.

I have no way of controlling that process at the moment and can't specify what images to use.

How to reproduce the problem

  1. Create a variable product
  2. See there is no way to specify what image should be used for a variation other than to set one as the primary image

Describe the solution you'd like

Merchants should have more control over the product feed and be able to specify where an image should be taken from.

Some suggestions for workarounds on this issue as per that ticket: Use Additional Variation Images --> https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-additional-variation-images/ --> set up each variation to have a "main" image that matches the main image, then add the swatches as alternate images on the variation

Use Variation Swatches --> https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-color-and-image-swatches/ --> This allows them to show a color option visually without actually setting an image for the variation.
