This looks mostly great! Let me know when you've had a chance to test on real hardware and I'll also give it a go. :)

I've tested on real hardware now, and it works exactly as intended :) Only issue was that the markup was slighly off in the user guide, so I've added an extra commit to fix that

I added some basic tests for this and it's looking great. I still want to test this with real hardware. :)
