Hello, Thanks for the report. But I can't reproduce this. What version of the leveldb-ruby gem do you have installed?
Can you try the latest master? I've updated to the latest leveldb code and this solved the snappy problem for some people (e.g. https://github.com/wmorgan/leveldb-ruby/pull/20)
Keeping this ticket open. For those watching, we've done some preliminary design work on this feature and learned some good things.
Thanks for filing this and for all the good context, @bnookala. Definitely on our radar as something we'd like Linkerd to be able to do.
@rspilker there was a long delay between 2.11 and the upcoming 2.12, but that's the exception not the norm. 2.13 should be a relatively fast follow after 2.12.
@ihordyrman (and others) can you expand a bit about why you want this feature? Does the `l5d-client-id` header capture your use case?

This isn't Istio-specific, the same applies to @Linkerd or to any service mesh that does injection via iptables.
@Dhua-v it's not about Istio adding support for Fargate, it's about Fargate adding support for this type of pod network programming, which will allow any service mesh (or other tool)...
