How to add an overlay layer over the images?

I am trying to add an overlay layer over the images to show a text but If I add a new div inside the "li" element the scrollbox creates a new line out of position. The goal is to show this layer when the user hovers the image. How could this be achieved? Thank you very much, great library!!
