Fails in multi-cursor mode

I previously was a SublimeText user and used to edit multiple line in multi-cursor mode and then join all of them. I could do it while still be in multi-cursor mode and end with a single line. In VisualCode with this extension, I need first to exit multi-cursor mode, select all lines and then apply the join command. It would be faster to do it the sublime way and join while still editing all the lines.
