I was asked on discord to raise this as an issue. I'd like the ability to build a playlist of games (e.g. every fighting game made for various platforms) and then have the mister select one at random and boot it.

Hi mate. My idea to get this up and running pretty quickly is if I added a "random launch" button someone on the menu page of my Remote script. I think you mentioned you had your mister already, you can try it out with no ram. Or see the video here: https://youtu.be/2hpF3laclaM?t=223

Hi there! Sorry to take so long to get back to you on this. If the remote core would be an easy solution, then by all means, that would be great! Otherwise, would there be a way to add custom folders to either the random.sh script or a 'random' option to MiSTer_Favorites? I'd love to have it read one of my folders generated by MiSTer_Favorites so I could edit it on the fly.
