Request: Allow reversing the pin order (e.g., start at 8 and count down to 1, top-to-bottom) for WIRE in the middle
NOTE: The Numbers for the WIRE W1 has wrong numbering: 1 to 8 instead of 8 to 1.
pins: [8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1]

cables:
W1:
does not work.
NOTE: assembly line will mount X1 connection pins looking towards you, then X2 180° turned around pins looking away from you with a FLAT 8 Pin Cable X1 in the middle. Result: 1-1, 2-2 8-8.
We can draw that like it is, or better, turn the X2 pins looking away. To match mounting steps.
Custom naming (including their order) of connector pins is supported by the pins attribute of a connector. A cable or bundle has wires, not pins. Unfortunately, there is currently no support for custom wire naming (including their order) by a wires attribute of a cable that is probably what you ask for.
In your use case above, I suggest you specify the connector pins order to match the wire order to avoid crossing all wires. I can imagine there might exist cases where this is not always possible or desireable.
