Please provide a PR description that explains the purpose and advantages with your suggested changes. If this resolves an existing issue, please refer to it using # directly followed by issue number.

Please also argue why you want it merged directly into the master branch instead of into dev where the next ordinary release is prepared. Otherwise, you should change the PR base branch to dev and rebase your patch-3 branch on top of the current dev branch, followed by a git push -f to update this PR.
