Crossovers internal to wire

Certain cables have crossovers internal to the cable itself (older Ethernet/serial cables used to have specific 'crossover' types, but high-performance SAS/external PCIe cables all have them now). It would be good if there was a way to represent the cross interior to the "cable" object itself, rather than showing up on either side.

Please elaborate. I suggest you supply a simple example with input and output that is possible in the current version. Then explain what differences in such an output you suggest, preferably also including a scetch (e.g. photo of your hand drawing) of the output you expect.
