Wire version: 3.35.3348 Wire for web version: 2024.04.25.09.21.36 Operating system: Rocky linux 9.4 Which antivirus software do you have installed: none

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. download the appimage version of wire
  2. run it on new user account (first run) (simple run it no login required to account)

What is the expected result?

it should create appimagekit-wire-desktop.desktop file under /home/<userName>/.local/share/applications to be shown on the installed app and allow user to add the app to favorite using gnome desktop environment

What is the actual result?

this file is not created then can not find app as installed then add being able to add it to favorite

work around

  1. delete /home/<user name>/.config/Wire (if it created by the new version)
  2. run old version (3.27.2944 for example) which create the required file
  3. delete /home/<user name>/.config/Wire
  4. run the newer version

thanks for your time and have a nice day :)
