Mobile app receives push notifications despite being active on desktop
Wire version: 3.10.3138 Wire for web version: 2019.10.16.1539 Operating system: Windows 10 1809 Which antivirus software do you have installed: N/a What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Have the wire desktop client open
- Actively using my computer
What is the expected result?
Phone should not receive push notifications in lieu of desktop ones
What is the actual result?
Phone is still getting push notifications, making sounds, vibrating, etc. It's extremely distracting and I need to silence my phone just because of this.
Reset push notifications token does not address this issue. The Wire app is on iOS version 3.45 (3936). The sound alerts is on "First message and pings" only
Hi @ecx86, is the desktop app running in foreground or background while you receive notifications on your phone?
Both in foreground and background suffer the issue.

@ffflorian I am commenting here because I think is related: I'm using wire-desktop (Ubuntu) and also the app. However I would like the exactly opposite of @ecx86: I want to be notified in the app every single time, even if the desktop app is on foreground. Is that possible?
Sometimes I experience loss of messages (messages that arrive at the desktop client but take hours to get to the mobile app), even when I'm using the "maintain connection to server". Is that expected?
