Wire version: 3.9.2895 Wire for web version: N/A Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with Cinnamon Which antivirus software do you have installed: None

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. ...Attempt to make a video call on similar system.
  2. ...
  3. ...

What is the expected result?

...Video call.

What is the actual result?

...Wire says that it doesn't have access to the camera. On closing the dialog box, it says that the computer (Laptop) doesn't have a camera.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

...The built in webcam works with Cheese, Skype and Wire in the Firefox browser, but not with the app. I installed the app from the Software Center. I removed Wire, reinstalled and still nothing. When I ran Wire in the browser, it found the camera. This is the camera when I run sudo lshw in a terminal *-usb:0 description: Video product: USB2.0 UVC HD Webcam vendor: Azurewave physical id: 4 bus info: usb@1:4 version: 12.16 serial: NULL capabilities: usb-2.00 configuration: driver=uvcvideo maxpower=500mA speed=480Mbit/s

@Raffles727 can you please visit https://test.webrtc.org/ with Chrome or Chromium and post the results here?

Test with Chromium https://test.webrtc.org/report/AMIfv96_3FFezpLgPjARqr7i7R7PgYm2ImlCdAbPcMORQBxpu4vx1xdOoYUlNeRb79QMP_NB_l1MS37Hu1g_-5LiAVmRxvnMvSSYuaVCxo_NJXuPGZEpOpc37JWwDCrcQaNFvmpvKSW4UE72TNlTabAQhdqrgPICjQ

When I run the same test with Firefox, results are different, but for some reason it fails to upload giving server error 500.

With Firefox test, the microphone is ok but the video bandwidth fails the test.

Please note that I was in the USA and UK and returned to Africa two days ago where I have now run the test, the internet bandwidth and service is very poor.

Best regards
