Wire-3.9.2895_x86_64 Gentoo Linux amd64 no antivirus What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Install wire trough appimage
2. Delete wire appimage file
3. Reinstall

What is the expected result? Working sound

What is the actual result? No sound

I have asked and asked and asked for them to make notification alerts AUDIBLE. My friends have done the same. The reply every time no matter who asks is along the lines of..... 'You're not a paying customer, go away'. Yes that's a translation, but I am pretty sure it's bang on what they mean. No inclination to make this FANTASTIC program USABLE for anyone who wants to HEAR when an incoming message arrives. I tried my best but I have to give up now, Riot is my second best option but it's now my favourite option purely because I can HEAR when a message is sent to me! Wire is far better in function in my view, in fact it's better in every single way except those ridiculously near-silent 'tink' alerts. Would it be so hard to just allow a LOUD option, with a longer/louder/both tone? God I wish I could use it, it would solve so many problems. I have friends and family who can't use Riot as it's just beyond them and way too technical. Wire is a synch, easier than Skype even, but way better and way more private. What an utter shame it really is. I know at least TEN people who have also tried it and uninstalled it purely because they can't hear alerts like me. Oh well, moving on......
