Restore conversation backup for two accounts

Open edzob opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug When I try to restore the conversation backups of two accounts in wire, the restore of the first account works, the restore of the second account does not work. I tried this in sequence A, B and sequence B, A. I uninstalled the wire app, re-installed the wire app, re-exported the conversation history and could reproduce this bug.

To Reproduce A detailed description will help us to fix the issue faster.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Android phone with Android 11.
  2. Install wire
  3. Login with account A in Wire on new Phone.
  4. Restore conversation history of account A via backup file with password
  5. Approve device via old phone or existing wire instance with account A
  6. Login with account B in Wire on new phone
  7. Restore conversation history of account B via backup file with password
  8. Approve device via old phone or existing wire instance with account B

Expected behavior History of account A and account B are visible. Bug: You see only the history of account A.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Wire version that exhibits the issue: 3.61.965
  • Last Wire version that did not exhibit the issue (if applicable):
  • Android OS version used to run Wire: Android 11

I have a hunch that device management is related to this issue.

When I for example hit the "full synchronization"option the device identification is messed up (for example on device C showing the list A and B, and removing the device C itself).
