Full sync causes read messages to unread again

Open penCsharpener opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug Just did the update to 3.47.911 which triggers a full sync. Also had this before when doing a full sync. Almost all my conversations show unread messages and the order of contacts in the recent list is completely mixed up.

image

To Reproduce Run a Options > Advanced > Perform full synchronization.

Expected behavior Messages that I read already should stay marked as read and the order of recent contacts should not be reset either. image

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Wire version: 3.47.909 and 3.47.911
  • Android 8 vanilla on Moto G4

for more see #2803

I'm getting that too.

I did a full sync several days ago, in response to the infamous [#2803] data-losing update, which restored my messages and [partly] my groups. But, ever since then the unread counts might as well be being created by a random number generator.

For example; one group I'm in had an unread count of zero yesterday. I received two messages on that group and the unread count jumped to 25. I read those and the unread count went back to zero. Then, this morning, I got another single message on that group and the unread count has been showing 55, since then.

On another group I've had an @ symbol [meaning someone mentioned me] for about the past 5 days, even though I've read al the messages in that group.

I've tried the recommended fix of opening those groups and scrolling to the end. But it made no difference.
