Current wire-android application during video call, if moved to send message then video call pause until move back to call window. (personally that makes disappointing to use the app) :-(

I've been using Jitsi Meet for video because it supports P-i-P mode, unlike Wire. I'd prefer a more integrated experience.

we need here force Wire Team to extend development for that facility. wire is a smart, easy use app like skype but focused on privacy/security.

i see, that uninterrupted video calling is a more important part just really needed to have. i'm also still using skype because of that reason. kindly request for every contributors to care about this as possible.

@marcoconti83 Is it possible to share ETA? already 2yrs, we really need this feature. somehow you guys need to spend some time for this rather than for other common features.

Last update from Wire Apr 18, 2019. Can you guys provide any update about that now? This is really more essential feature for us.

Below several thing, i doubt wire may forget during this enhancement

• Enlarge(expand) our side view to full screen by tap on small window. so we can see about ourselves for a moment than check on tiny window [2]
• Change position by finger drag [1]
• Auto hide video controls
  • If possible to minimize our side camera preview also better.
• High quality video. Try much as possible (i dont mean about brightness; we need the quality that able to get from camera)

We need this feature on wire software too. It's already two years from last comment; can someone revisit this ticket and start to work soon? It's difficult for migrate to this app due no support for this important facility (for every use cases: between friends, family, team, office)

I was evaluating wire app with my friends and family with expectation to use in our institute as replacement to skype. unfortunately we cannot keep the call active everytime and found this issue already open years ago so i put my request here. I doubt you guys fail from business, honestly i wonder how can you go ahead with limited features while ignoring these essential things expect by end-users i believe other business guys feel the same when evaluate wire software

Hi wire team,

Please tell us about ongoing status of this feature request? It's really painful and annoying. How long will take for this? If you have to do significant effort of work and technical improvement then you may able to keep important parts as proprietary together avs library or separate that feature from public code resources

Any convenient way, we expect this uninterrupted video calling feature soon as possible but if you apply such change; make sure to avoid result transparency issues related communication and data processing between official service along with apps and public code because we love this project due that is open source, more privacy friendly compared other apps with combination of end to end encryption.
