Hi, thanks for getting in touch. We think that archived conversations should appear when sharing content to Wire -- just because you archived them doesn't mean that you don't want to ever talk to those people again, right? Can I ask why you would expect a different behaviour?
Oh I see. Well, intuitively I'd have thought archived conversations are those I want to keep for certain reasons but don't write to anymore. A simple example would be, say, an organisational group (birthday present for somebody, holiday with friends). Once the event is organised I might want to keep the messages of the conversation but not write anything more. So at least to me, treating archived convs like regular ones seems a bit counterintuitive. ~~Especially, if the conversation won't get unarchived once I do share some content to it.~~
So, I hope this is a valid use case. If you don't agree, maybe it would help to mark archived conversations somehow in the 'share to' list so one won't unarchive a conversation by accidentally sharing something to it.
I find this is the case even for group conversations whose content has been deleted, not just archived. Deleted group chats should certainly not remain on the sharing list. Unfortunately I have someone in my contacts who keeps adding me to groups without my consent (why, oh why, can't Wire ask for consent to join a group?), and my share list is getting polluted with all these deleted group chats.
