Contacts and conversations with deleted accounts don't disappear
Issue
One of my contacts deleted their Wire account. However, they are still shown as "default" in my contact list, and the chat I had open with them can't be deleted, as chats can't be deleted on Android in the first place (#997). Deleting the chat on Wire Desktop doesn't work either, as it reappears on every new installation.
Environment
- Wire version that exhibits the issue: 3.1.369 (Android), 3.0.2828 (Desktop)
- Android OS version used to run Wire: 7.1.2
- Is this a custom firmware or a stock one: Stock (issue is not related to firmware)
- Mobile phone model/manufacturer: OnePlus 3
Details
When one of your contacts deletes their account, the contact doesn't disappear from your contact list but is replaced with a "default" user (see attached screenshot). Also, if there was an open conversation with that user, it can't be removed anymore. You can delete it in the desktop apps temporarily, but it reappears once you reinstall Wire. On Android, it can't be removed at all due to issue #997 (see the second screenshot).

Ah, sorry about this. Thanks for reporting!
This happens to me often in the version of Wire for Android, when trying to delete a conversation or group, it is archived and does not disappear. In some cases it is not synchronized with the Linux application.

That is described in issue #997; this one is specifically about contacts and chats not disappearing after account deletion. However, both issues are kind of dependent on each other, i.e. if the issue of not being able to delete chats would be fixed, the user could delete the broken chat themselves. Deleted accounts not disappearing from your contact list remains another issue, though.
