Scaling horizontal axis resets vertical axis

When you zoom in / out on the horizontal axis, the vertical axis gets reset. This is somewhat unexpected as you loose your focus point.

The reason I implemented the behavior this way, is that you will not need to rezoom vertically, it is done for you automatically.

But, you are right, I suspected this might be subjective, so I propose to implement this as an optional setting which users can tune themselves.
