Just seeing if work for this add-on is still active.

I just upgraded (but it feels like a downgrade) to FF v 69.0 and this suppose to fix this dick move by firefox team(another one). But it doesn't work for me. After restarting application all descriptions are gone :( It's been a long time since last update - I'm afraid development has been dropped and I'd need to rollback to (VERY) old firefox.

It is over a year now, the last commit (17. Oktober 2019), so I guess too, this project is dead. Unfortunately, as Firefox never put something similar to the good old in-app bookmark notes and this Add-On is far from beeing comparable to it :(

Does anyone have any good alternative ways to handle notes associated to bookmarks? I am so dependent on this and have yet to establish a practical work-around.

@smayer97 So far i've been using "Notes by Firefox" which is not really handy, basically like google keep but from firefox and it worked barely ok, but occasional they just disappear and you have to reinstall plugin, and sync it again. (As i write this I noticed they are gone, last used around week ago).

Thanks for the feedback. Clearly need something more stable and reliable.

@smayer97 I mean - it annoys me very much. But overall - it's the best choice we got right now. They are synced across devices so it's almost like good old bookmarks. Best part - author is Mozilla. So they removed feature.. to add feature. Monty Python of software development.

lol (sort of)...more like, painful, but gotta laugh, right?!

with "Notes by Firefox" where are they stored? You say they sometimes disappear. I have info that is too important to just disappear.

smayer97 avatar Dec 21 '19 22:12 smayer97

@smayer97 you hook it up to Firefox Sync. So it's "out there" (don't the word cloud :P )

Bercik1337 avatar Dec 21 '19 22:12 Bercik1337

Thanks but I cannot rely on something stored exclusively in the cloud for my sensitive info. I need to at least have a backup of that data locally and full control over it.

I had to drop Firefox Sync today. It's just too annoying to resync over and over again.
